Re: Replacing AMFA Fresh Water System by Jabsco
Caramel,
Thanks, that helps. Your pump shows up at 3 gpm, if that's good enough for your use and the shower, the 4 gmp March pump should be more than fine.

Dinghy type and storage
What's the consensus on dinghy type and storage on an amel maramu? I see a lot other permanent rack ahead of the mast, while some with it tied down to the rear cabin top.

Joel,
Thanks for clarifying my statement about the barrier coating on my boat so that there is no confusion with others. Oliver kindly responded to me on the board several months ago and told me

Bill,
What size Marco Pump do you have? The UP3/E is 4GPM and the UP6/E is 6GPM. Are you happy with the flowrate?
Thanks,
Duane

Miles,
When I bought my 1987 Maramu, the water had been sitting in the tank about 1/3 full for 4 years. I did not drink it as it smelled a bit “swampy”. Upon opening the tanks, I found snails

Fresh water tanks
Hi there
On previous boats I've had stainless water tanks
My 1985 maramu has the tanks built into the hull. I guess all the Amels of that era did
The water has a pretty unpleasant tang to it so

Re: [Amel Yacht Owners] Perkins M 4.154 repairs
The model 4.154 is obsolete now for Secodi: they got rid of all parts they had & gave up on supply.
even though I will try them as they may have a clue on where to source parts next t the Amel

Hi All. Or engine is the original 1980 Perkins 4.108. It was rebuilt around 1000 hours ago. It is still working very reliably [touch wood], just leaks small amounts of oil through the sump

Bit of a red herring if you ask me… no wind = no soot.
