Thanks for the input. That is pretty much the way we use ours.
I believe Amel's rational for installing a small charger to use a the dock was a 100 Amp charger can draw almost 10 Amps @ 220VAC

I do not know enough about pumps.
But why should a diaphragma pump have risk of flooding the boat if the diaphragma rupture if the pump house itself is intact?

Same here, did not go with the 100 Amp charger being concerned with the wiring size.
My vessel came with the 8 house batteries and the 30 + 50 Dolphin.

Oops, I meant to say the factory outlet and switch are in the starboard locker; the Shurflo itself is on the factory location, a port shelf outboard of the watermaker pre filters and above the anchor

Both my Dolphin units died, one at a time.
I replaced the smaller one with a 30 A Promariner Pronautic 2430P
The larger one with a 24V 100A Victron Skylla.
