Greasing the Bamar 1.01 Furler

Our Bamar 1.01 staysail furling motor is very noisy.
I've read previous threads, and one thing which was suggested was to re-grease the gearing mechanism.

Thanks much everyone for the advice! I will get a wet vac! As regards the bleach, maybe clean off the hoses with it using a bucket and then use it sparingly on the bilge itself?

I wish my copper still looked like new. Here is what I pulled out after discovering on my first passage as a new owner that the aft holding tank emptied into the access area below the shower

I hear you, but anything over 50ppm free chorine is not recommended even for relatively short term contact with copper. 1/2 cup of bleach in a gallon is about 1,250ppm free chlorine. I don't

You are correct, however some of the recommendations in this thread were much higher than I gave which was 1/2 cup to a gallon of water for 1 hour, then use a wet vac to suck it out...then add 8

Besides being very careful in what's get down to the bilge, more or less do ass Bill describeds, in addition to that we have a ladies sock as a filter collecting remaining solids that might go down

I remove thefloat switch. I put about 2 cups of bleach into the bilge and fill it to thetop. I let it sit for most of

Have a great first meal on board. We just got to Italy after 2 years in Greece. The med is a great cultural place to cruise. The wind and wind direction is usually pretty fickle, but the Amel is great
