I think Admiral Rouse is on to something as one of the Super Maramus I owned had these relays and the other one didn’t. Amel always wanted me to have a TV on board my boats which we also used to

It appears that the relays are installed by Amel. Do you have an Amel installed TV and possibly VCR? I am ONLY GUESSING that the relays have something to do with that. Sorry, without being there and

Tom,
The 12 volt supply system in our boat (Number 160) is set up essentially as Bill Rouse describes for the "later models" even though it is an "early model", i.e. pre Y2K.

Here is a pic behind the nav station. There are two 24 volt relays in the middle that are tripped by the "instrument" breaker in the closet. On our boat, the three Sailors are:

The address is correct. You have to be logged into the Amel Yacht Owners Yahoo Group to get the letter to download. Login and try again. Let me know if it does not work and I will try to find my copy.

Bill,
I’m interested in this letter but it doesn’t come up on the computer just saying an error occurred when I try the address below. Is it correct?

Re: [Amel Yacht Owners] Re: Need to replace Isotemp Basic 40 - how to get it out?
Duane,
That sounds correct, but as I remember it, I did not try to move the exhaust hose. It probably would not take much.
Anyway, at least you have a copy of the solution that I chose, although

Bill,
You probably had the same situation I do, the generator exhaust hose wraps around the outboard end of the water heater. Basically zero clearance.

Duane,
Alternatively, conflict with the cockpit drain can be solved by shifting the tank a couple inches outboard (to port). This is simpler than modifying the tank and cheaper than buying the tank
