Re: [Amel Yacht Owners] Dispute with sailmaker
The genoa sun cover on Cream Puff is on the starboard side. Thisis concurrent with the furling arrows on the control panel regarding which wayto wrap the sail. The sail furls when the foil is rotated

Re: [Amel Yacht Owners] Alternators and house batteries
Hi Thomas,
I think that is possible because, on my SM37, the main engine has two alternators, one is 24v(for house batteries) and the other is 12v(for starter batteries). On the generator there

Alternators and house batteries
Hi all,
I was reading a Sept 2015 discussion between Bill Rouse and Colin Streeter to learn about the topic of having a 24/12DC converter (not cheap!) or a 12V/230AC charger in case the starter

Yes, we have had that problem. Water leaking in past the cap on the emergency tiller opening.
I did the simple fix first, I put a good dose of silicon grease on the o-ring. On a first pass, that

Re: [Amel Yacht Owners] Chain counter
The cause is most likely that the chain counter sensor needs replacing. You will need an IB5076 Chain Counter Sensor made by IFM Electronic http://www.ifm.com/

Chain counter
Hi all,
We have our original Amel chain counter which has done great service over 17 years. For no apparent reason it has started to count even though we are now in a marina and the winch is not in

Re: [Amel Yacht Owners] Emergency tiller hole
I believe that the "small hole" in the cap is for a small piece of line to secure the cap when you remove it to use the emergency tiller. If you do not have a "securing line," I recommend adding

Re: [Amel Yacht Owners] Emergency tiller hole
The gray cap on Kristy has a small hole in the side where it fits down into the hole in the cabin top. When I had a leak, I turned the cap so the small hole faced aft and have had no problems

Re: Emergency tiller hole
Hi Rafael,
We have had this issue also.
The cover /plug can be levered out with a screwdriver under the lip.
The only way i found to stop it dripping was to put silicone RTV around it and push it back

Rafael:
On my SM, some years ago the o-ring inside the cover had split. I purchased o-ring stock of the same diameter, cut it to size, and glued the ends with the best quality
