My Yanmar had a several month history of erratic starting and then finally refused to start. It was nothing more serious than a $75 electric starter relay (not the solenoid ) .

Firstly, be careful cranking an engine that does not fire as the engine will pump seawater in but not out. It is possible to fill the water lift muffler and have seawater back up into the turbocharger

Assuming you unable to crank the engine when cold, it sounds to me as though you have a starter with high-resistance windings, where it draws too much current when cold cranking.

Thanks I'll check this model out .... I've decided not to put a larger 100 amp aboard but have two smaller units like original installation.
And, lucky me, I got the smaller 30 amp to run again

This is good advice. Definitely will upgrade all those high pressure hoses .. And proactively replace before they fail.

I had the same thing happen a few years ago. Cost me a bundle. I think those original hoses are crap. Have some good ones made with proper fittings and reinforced with woven stainless outer

I did mean to take them out if the engine room and disassemble them as much as possible.
Use distilled water if available.

Use a lot of water and let them dry for days.
