Re: [Amel] from Monastir (Tunesia) to Corfu Greec
Hi when Sailing in summer in the Med be sure you have lots of fuel as winds tend to be light. The sail speed in light will be 3-4 knots. Normal sailing in 10-15 knots you'll see 6-7 hull speed. Enjoy

Re: [Amel] Fethiye Marina Turkey - Yacht Classic Hotel
Before booking a winter berth in Turkey. check their new (from feb 2012) VISA rules.
As far as I know the boat can be in turkey for a year without problem, but the crew can only be there for 90 days

Roque,
We stayed at Marina di Loana in July last year. Excellent facilities and
well motivated staff. Prices seem reasonable.

Re: [Amel] from Monastir (Tunesia) to Corfu Greec
Kent,
Since you seem to spend a lot of time hard on the wind, have you considered adding a proper upwind sail? Standard Amel genoas are notably poor upwind and the outboard chainplates don't help.

On most of the newer boats there is an "anti-torque" device that was either installed during manufacture, or retro-fitted. I believe that this was designed to prevent such problems. I don't know

Bon jour, Jean Paul.
Welcome and congratulations on your new Maramu. I have a SuperMaramu, but I suspect the boats are very similar in passage-making speeds. I have always averaged about 6 knots

Is there a reason you want Raymarine versus other manufacturers? Raymarine is quite popular but I am not convinced that they are the best AP.
