I am not sure of the cause, water erosion, corrosion, or electrolysis.
I did experience a grinding and squealing noise for a short period of
time that I am certain came from the pump. The

My gas bottles, 10 and 20lbs, are in the stern locker which is
ventilated, and have an electric shut-off valve attached, reducing
danger of leaks into the bilge.

We put the tanks back to the dealer and installed an Origo spiritus cooker (methylated spirit).
No leaks, no fears. No locker, no lost space and available everywhere.

I ordered one in 24 volts so my wiring was easier.
I mounted the annunciator on the side of the companionway next to the amel no water annunciator. I then which is right next to the breaker

You might also think of adding a high temperature alarm to the water exhaust hose of th engine.
it goes off at 150 degrees at a temperature low enough to save the hose and the muffler. you can see
