We bought a new one and made the hole bigger. We
suggest you find any compass that roughly fits the
hole and go from there.

When saltwater gets past the shaft (stainless furler tube) seal, the aluminum casing at the top of the gear case gets corroded and seizes up the shaft. If there is grease/oil in the bottom

I put all new bearings,seals and gaskets in all the boxes before I left US
5/20/2007. I used Super Lube ( a heavy silicone grease, canada)
in the jib box, it looked about the same consistancy of

No, there are no markings on mine either. It probably wouldn't help anyway as mine is a prototype furler, similar to the one on the Maramu. The newer Sharki's have a smaller furler.

I have US gas bottles on my Maramu and I fill them regularily from Continental bottles. It's very simple to do, you can buy a fitting in almost any shop. BTW, no problems with refills
