Re: B&G H3000 & B&G H5000 Amel 54 and Amel 55
Airmar makes sonic speed sensors and one is installed on my A55, most recently replaced in 2018. I would ask them what the right sensor is - they make sensors that work via NMEA 2000, for example.

Hi Stuart, on my boat you can turn the large nut with the Amel spanner without removing the quadrant. The plate on my boat (circled in red) is just to lock the nut in place - it presses against one

Paul,
As recently as 4 months ago a member of this group purchased new Sonic Speed sensors. I believe what happened is that B&G stopped producing them about 5 or 6 years ago, then somehow, a supply

Bill,
As I understand, B&G no longer support the Sonic Speed, and neither do A+T Instruments. This being the case, is there a recommended alternative system? I did hear of a combined forward

B&G H3000 & B&G H5000 Amel 54 and Amel 55
Amel 54 and Amel 55 owners with B&G H3000 or H5000:
Did you know that if your B&G Sonic Speed fails, there is a user-programmable setting in the H3000 & H5000 processor to use SOG from your GPS

Re: Beam IV : A55 # 9 rudder gland access
Hi Stuart,
I do not know how your rudder stock is configured as Kimberlite is a 53.
If is like mineβ¦.
The nut on my quadrant is about 60 mm.
If I had a wrench on board that size it would not fit

Stuart,
The last time I did this on a 55, I removed the quadrant because it was easier to do with the quadrant removed. I believe you might be able to do it without the removal, but that will depend

Hello Jorg,
Thank you very much for your reply with photograph.
We have the large Amel spanner but no inspection plate...
Do we have to remove the quadrant and itβs connections to access the rudder

Hi Daniel,
I removed the inspection port about 10 years ago. I used a truck inner tube as the material to make a new gasket. I have had no problems since. I opened the tank because there was debris

I did, just yesterday. Had about 100L left. However, Iβm not sure if these gauges are all calibrated the same.
