They are a great resource.
I also used them to replace the anchor wash down pump, and fresh water wash
down pumps with USA made products.

about Suez Canal crossing, the Red Sea / Gulf of Suez is a very good
place to spend the winter, which in fact is the best

I can help you at least for your first question:
What you describe here is very typical of the carbon brushes being worn out. Remove the protection boot, remove all carbon dust in the collector area,
