Keep dousing it with water and working it until it is completely free. The salt will be well encrusted. Don"t forget to squirt up the input shaft too.

Hi Duane. I used wooden toothpicks, preferably the tapered variety. Dip the ends that will go in the hole with any flexible waterproof glue. When it sets up, cut the ends that extend outside the hole
