Re: Furler Top Swivel Santorin
Hi all,
Never underestimate the friction of salt. It can slow or sieze any furler and can be corrected by simple washing. Most of us consider that solution too simple and try all sorts of expensive

Jamie,
Agree with you that the blue box is the easiest way for us: just swapping out the box and we should be good to go. I had to swap out the box this summer in VANUATU as it failed - luckily I had

Re: Sailing higher latitudes
I would not lead a hose or pipe from the engine room to the cockpit or below deck. You will pipe in heat but also all the noise from the Engine Room. It will work like a direct line for high and low

Re: vetus coupling removal
after aligning the engine with the "special tool" it runs smooth without vibrations. It took me 4 hours to lift the engine, do the alignment... and 6 hours to get the vetus coupling of the shaft.

Re: A54 rudder removal
Bill,
Many thanks. I have just one more question (I hope!): when I replace the stuffing should I pack with grease?
I think I need to get your book.
Cheers,
Paul

Awning
Herbert,
That’s a good looking awning you have. Where did you get it made?

I love this group!
@Hans: I did the same now, cleaned the foil several times, and it runs fine again, seems to be ok now. Next time we hoist the genua I will do this again. cleaning, cleaning,

Re: Sailing higher latitudes
I've done the same myself , 4 inch duct fits perfectly in the engine exhaust port and provides a fair amount of warm air to the cockpit. I was pretty sure I had no exhaust leaks ,but having a carbon

Re: Sailing higher latitudes
A tip from US. You can use the hot air from the engine rom, put an elbil and a pipe from the air ventilation.

Re: Furler Top Swivel Santorin
Is it like this? There is a black plastic bush in the first photo between the furling foil and the sliding casting. I think that replacing the bottom bush will make sliding the casting up to the Genoa

You don’t see that tube unless you have dismounted the swivel.
Send an e-mail to Amel and ask, our boats are so close in year that it could be the same. Lady Annila is from

Re: Sailing higher latitudes
I remember seeing a post from...Jose? .... where he had routed some air con hose from the engine room fan outlet on the port side in to the cockpit
That seemed to me to be a really simple and good

Thx Ann-Sofie, I found the file - very good documentation!. Unfortunately the SN Swivel seems to be different. I cannot see the inner plastic-tube, also the two other parts look different.

Hi Herbert,
I know this is too simple but wash it thoroughly to get the salt off. If you lube it with the salt there the lube just retains the salt. Thoroughly wash the swivel bearings too, before
