Places to winter in Scotland
I'm planning to cruise the West Coast of Scotland next season and am wondering whether there are good places to leave the boat for the following winter. Any help would be much appreciated.

Re: Onan MDKD 6.5kW genset exhaust elbow
Karen,
That sure is much different than the elbow on my Onan MDKAV 7kW. Mine looks much more like the one from Nikimat's MDKAL. If you do end up replacing yours with a new one, let me know. I will

Parmax 4 24v 40psi has performed perfectly for us for 5+ years now.
I think the previous owner had a 25psi model in there when we took over the boat and it was OK, but the 40psi has plenty of reserve

Re: Headsail furler issues
That's interesting, Adam.
On the SN the wires make "home runs" to the motors (furler or windlass) with no splice in a junction box, a far better arrangement (and typically "code"). When you redo this

Re: Headsail furler issues
An update on the headsail furler. The problem was a burnt out wire. The wire in question carried the current from one (FOC in) of the four solenoids (two for the FOC/Jib, two for the anchor winch)

Hi Eric,
We've had good luck with the Jabsco Parmax Plus 4. 24v. $140. Good pressure won't strain the plumbing.

I was thinking of changing out my original fresh water pump for a Sureflo Aqua King.My only concern is that the shutoff pressure is 55 PSI, 3.8 Bar.It is an on demand pump and puts out 18 liters per

Mark,
Based on your hull number, and the pictures of your exhaust elbow, I am guessing you have one of the newer, bigger gensets. I think that one is available as an OEM for ~$500
