We replaced our main salon and aft unit with Marine Air by Dometic in June 2014. Both are still working well, and so far, zero issues.

Of course from the 55 production the door is plexiglass with a stainless frame of top and front sliders and allows lots of light
Perhaps Amel could assist with a production or a design for a retrofit

Has anyone thought about replacing the door with a piece of Lexan or plexiglass? Maybe a teak frame with clear plastic insert?

Our CLIMMA 9EH AC unit in the Salon of SM2K #417 has failed. The compressor has a ground fault and trips the GFI.
Has anyone successfully replaced the unit or rebuilt the compressor?

We just painted ours. Epoxy filler, Epoxy primer and awlgrip topcoat. Nordic white

As part of putting in new instruments, I was able to shut down the “permanent” Sailor. Unfortunately, we do not have an on/off switch anywhere on our Sailors.
