Re: New Genoa sail for Amel 54
I truly believe that a foam luff is needed on an Amel furling foresail, especially if you ever plan to reef the sail.

Paul,
I heard a humorous story about the "PERMANENT." Several owners of SMs, who knew Captain Amel well, complained about losing the memory in the AM/FM radio. Apparently they complained long enough

I'm in the process of ordering sails most likely Radial Hydranet from Incidences. One concern I have they do not do Foam luff, they claim it's no good. Now my questions to you who have incidences

Re: Outhaul
Paul, I understand. However, if there were a source for the worm & spur gear, the gearbox could certainly be rebuilt. Amel previously stocked the Bronze Spur gear. They either made a decision to stop

Sorry for my lack of knowledge I thought the whole gear box was called a worm gear, anyhow I would like to have a whole gear box as a spare, not only the Spur gear

Permanent 24 v to 12 v converter
I’m surprised about the function of the Permanent 24 v to 12 v converter. If I understand it right the only original function is to keep the memory in the FM/AM radio even when the main switch is

Re: Companion way for removal
Nice Job Mark and Debbie,
is there a reason why you choose to run the wood fiber structure horizontal and not vertical?
I assume it was done be the wood shop you had mentioned before.
Sorry I missed
