Hi Scott,
I believe the Amel 50 will be coming back to my home town on long island in a few weeks.
I will definitely be heading to the Caribbean in the fall. I hope to leave about November

Two questions:
1. How can I close the holes (drilling the old rivets out or better close them with new rivets?)

Alan,
I believe that you are describing a situation where the Onan attempts to turnover, but it seems as though you are trying to start it with a weak or dead battery. I recently reviewed this

Colin,
Very understandable with lots of actual and current information. Thanks for that.

Thanks for your input.
Before taking the motor out I removed one of the brushes and the armature seemed pretty dirty so I cleaned that up and it is working at the moment, probably could do with a set

I know this is an old thread, but it serves to indicate how useful this forum is.
I had the issue of the Onan not cranking over the last few days.
