Re: Deleware Bay --> Cape May anchorages
Hi Wolfgang,
There's a wonderful "secret" anchorage on that route. It's the Cohansey River part way down Delaware Bay and you can anchor around any bend as you go up the river. This is an old

Re: Storm tactics
Hey Eric--
Did you add chain plates to attach the drogue? If not, where and how do you attach it? Have you ever had to use it?
Thanks,

Re: Amel is going lithium
Mark,
If you look at Dessalator specs you'll see that it does operate much more efficiently at 24v vs 220v.

For my Duo100, operating at 220v uses

Cabin sole revarnishing
Hello there
Our cabin sole needs some tlc. Family sailing with young boys onboard means it’s seen some action and I need to revarnish it.
In high traffic areas we are down through varnish to bare

In the information you provided on August 6 you mentioned that your water maker outputs approximately 80 LPH consuming 600 W. We have the Dessalator 160 which is 220 V only. When operating it is

Re: Amel is going lithium
Nick,
I can and have run the hot water heater on battery. It's only 700w so similar to the water maker, but of course 220v so inverter inefficiencies come into play.
To clarify, I can do all of those

Peter,
I've been doing more research on this...again. I used to own a 27' off-shore center console power cat with a ParaTech sea Anchor. That's very different from say an Amel Santorin. I'm currently

We’ve been into Cape May, twice.
Once, in the anchorage, and once fueling at Utah’s Marina.
It is shallow, but manageable.
Radio the marina for directions in deep water. When fueling, we diverted

Wolfgang,We just made that passage , I don't think there is enough water to get into the Cape May harbor and the Bay inlet is restricted by a fixed bridge. In settled weather you can anchor just about

Re: Antal Block and Dyneema loops
Hi Wolfgang;
We replaced the loops by removing the screw you mentioned and took the roller out. You will not lose any ball bearings. It did take some work to get the roller out due to salt and dust.

Antal Block and Dyneema loops
Good morning ,
I received the dyneema loops by Amel and ask now the group for any advice or recommendations for the way to Change the loops at the Antal Block. First try after getting out the screw

Re: Did you catch 4 errors on the Delos series 205?
Could you specify the four errors you identified on the Delos video for anyone that is still just marginally Amel challenged? Thanks.

Re: Wintering in potentially freezing conditions, watermaker?
Dean,
I've winterized my SM for the last two years. For the watermaker I did as Mark from Balcen (Dessalator USA distributor) suggested and used marine/rv anti-freeze and it seems to have worked fine

Mark from Dessalator in the US recommends the pink anti-freeze (propylene glycol) alone as an alternative to metabisulfite. So, in cold weather you have both bases covered.

Wintering in potentially freezing conditions, watermaker?
Hi folks,
We will be wintering ashore this year at Ardrossan, Scotland where there is a possibility of subzero temperatures and I intend to take measures to combat possible damage due to freezing.
