Thanks Ann Sophie. I vaguely remember that after the composite wheel like the one on your boat was introduced, Amel got about 10 wheels in stainless steel that they forgot to cancel the order on.

We got our replacement from Amel - it even included the leather cover for the wheel hub with a gold embossed "H.Amel" signature on it that was the original design for the SN.

To confirm that the metal wheel is changed. This wheel is on S/Y Lady Annila, SM 232 built 1998.

There is a leather upholstery gentleman near vista mar in Panama. He does surprisingly good work at a very reasonable price. We got steering wheel and new seat etc for 200us.

The galvanizer I used said they would have to sandblast if there was paint on it, and they would have an extra charge. I would regalvanize every time if I could, I think my cost was about $250

Ok Hans, I understand now, I have just completed the bottom maintenance on my 55 and certainly didn’t see any such crack or signs of a such a thing
