Re: Any SM owners use a Beta engine??
Hi Bill Fletcher,
On my MARAMU #219 the Perkins 4154 has little more than 11,000 hours.
Also if is still running very well, I must be prepared to buy a new engine, perhaps, in a short time. Quite sure

I accidentally deleted John Clanton's posting on this Topic...here it is:
I have owned my 55 for a year and a half, not nearly as long as most people on this forum, and I am not nearly as experienced

Yes, same problem on a SM...I set an alarm every time I filled the tank because I wasn't smart enough to watch it after I overflowed the first time.😡

All,
Our 54 has a major design flaw. Or it’s not protected against stupidity, take your pick.
Anyway I managed for the third time now to overflow the fresh water tank while refilling. The problem is

I bought a Beta marine 60 six years ago and it has been the best purchase I have made for the boat. It has been totally reliable and easy to work on. Two options I had were I had the remote oil filter

All,
I have always recommended, if an Electrical Emergency happens aboard your Amel, the Main Battery Switches should be immediately turned OFF (opened). I have also urged owners to discuss this

Re: "heavier lower stays than the original"
Hi Bill,
About the running backstay, that is exactly my setup. When not in use the stay is routed via a snapshackle with a short piece of string attached to the scepter next to the cap-shroud stay.
