Re: VHF issues
Hi Thomas,
If I recall correctly, there are mating PL259 connectors at the base of the mast for all 4 antennas. You should be able to re-configure these to do the checks of the antennas and their feed

That makes sense. I will do that at calm anchorage. Thanks for the encouragement. After a few reads it seems like a true Pandoras box. I'll go slow and report back.

Hi Chuck,
Thanks for clarifying - I was wondering about that. Reduction gear geometry is such that you, indeed, can not turn the output shaft - that's what keeps the sail "locked" when you are

Thanks Craig. I did verify voltage but did not disassemble the gear box from the motor yet. Just tried to turn output shaft that extends out the box that engages with the sail foil. I will

Hi Chuck,
Eric has answered your question but since you've already got the motor removed from the mast you might try putting 24v to the wires from a different source, which could inform as to whether

If you need a machine shop FKG is the place to go. However Electec specializes in electrical things.

On the heads in my Santorin I replaced the vinyl with plastic shower panels which came in sections to join together. Glued direct to wood.

Craig
I guess all boats manufactured at this time not only Amels have problems with the vinyl.
On the back the vinyl has a thin foam which goes to dust after the years and the vinyl does not attach

Re: VHF issues
I had similar problems with my vhf that most of you had. I ended up replacing the antenna wire and antenna. Attenuation ceased and range increased to about 25 nm.

Replacement of vinyl wall and ceiling covering on Amel Sharki
We are looking for some ideas on what others have done when they have removed the vinyl that is on the ceilings and some walls on a Sharki.
We had to remove some from the forward cabin when repairing

Thanks all for the information
We checked the connections at the back of the vhf box and at the base of the mast and they looked perfect.
I will try to swap the ais and vhf antennae at the nav
