I do use a fuel additive to prevent bugs and indeed have never had one. also use a 10 micron promaty filter. There are inspection ports but not very accessible. I think I'm going to wait until

Make sure you protect the mast paint to avoid chipping. I used a single layer if sunbrella and it went ok. Mohammad is right that the spacers
