Re: [Amel Yacht Owners] Raymarine ACU 400 AP
Hi Paul,
We recently installed the RM EVO-400, installing also a new Linear Drive (servicing the old one and keeping it for spares).
Like you, we were happy with the performance of the old unit.

Alan, This is why I asked the question, I could not remember what I used the last time . Then when I went into the auto store I was surprised by how many different fluids there was to chose from.

Hi Pat,
You definitely can run your watermaker in fresh water without ruining the membrane(s). The only caveat is that you must not exceed your fresh water output rating.

Alternatively.....take a short piece of webbing and make a loop, trapping the ends of the loop onto the end cap with a jubilee clip. Sit down in the cockpit with a beer. Put the loop over a cleat on

Re: [Amel Yacht Owners] Re: Watermaker and transmission fluid
Thanks Eric,
apologies if i have misled people.
You are quite right.
After some research I discover there are a lot of ATF variants that are specified for different applications.
Advice : don't listen

Hi Herbert
sorry for the delay....here are two pics...it's difficult to photograph, but there's a weldment forward of the mast head and the block is attached to that.

Re: Masse Light and March Pump
I just ran mine to answer your question and it pulled about 3 amps while it was pumping at 100%. How does that stack up with yours? While you have any tap wide open it will pump at 100% of capacity.

Pat,
If you're going to count on the watermaker (and it is a great asset for those of us who enjoy anchoring out) I would just buy new membranes and have a clean slate. Replacing them will also give

Hi Alan,
I thought SAE 90 was gear oil,(for the C drive) not transmission fluid.(for the gear box)
