We have that halyard also. In addition to potentially lifting the dinghy (though there are other halyards that can be used for this purpose), I was thinking it was to raise the storm staysail. If not,

I should post a photo. It's not the topping lifts for the poles, it's another halyard. I'm thinking someone added it to hoist their dinghy onto the foredeck, although why you wouldn't just

I did heat it in an oven, and it then came out very easily. I pried / scraped somewhat gently from the hole in the body for the winch socket and it took very little to get it out. It needs to

Duane, It sounds like you're describing the topping lift for the downwind poles, although it's hard to picture the "line around the lower spreaders" in your description. Do you have/use a ballooner?

On my 53 Kimberlite we had a fresh air system that took fresh air from the cockpit and blew it into the aft cabin, the main cabin , and the forward cabin.
It was relatively easy to install

Extra halyard???
I have an odd halyard that goes up to the first spreader. The previous owner had looped some heavy line around the lower spreaders and hung a block from it which has a halyard in it.
