Hi Bill,
I replaced mine with white silicone sealant several years. They seem to work just fine.

Bill,
I think that your idea of using the silicone might be the best idea. The filled (Grey as opposed to the clear) Dow Corning 3145 stands up for a long time to the UV in my experience. The

Shaft packing
We’re off the boat so hopefully someone in the group can answer a quick question. What size shaft packing do I need: Maramu, original shaft size and packing housing? Thanks in advance!

Hi Alan,
Thanks for your reply. I will ask Olivier Beaute. He surveyed my boat 2 years ago and noticed the worn out earth plates in his report.

Alan, The threaded stem is pretty long on transducers , I don't think you will have a problem . I would guess the hull is probably 11/4" thick , just guessing . I had a B&G sonar transducer installed

Thank you for the feedback it seems that we are in line with the storage on the stern railing. The big question is now where do I get a stainless steel holder that is suitable.

I keep my 4 people liferaft in the aft cabin under a desk. It is better protected inside.
Better not to rush with liferaft deployment. You have to "stap up" on the liferaft when it is absolutely no

I received the new limit switch today and still no joy.
This is confusing since, in diagnosing the problem (bow thruster would not retract), I borrowed a new limit switch from another Amel SM

Re: Question about earth plates replacement
Hi Willem,
Our plates seem to be attached with rather large slot headed screws/ bolts.
I would doubt that they are just self tapping, I'm sure they would thread into something inside the rudder.
