I would also recommend having the removeable backcurtain fitted to the rear of the bimini, invaluable in poor weather and the port side of it can be folded forward on top of the bimini to keep the sun off the helmsman. It is easily tied forward to the clips on the fixed part. Hello I hope everyone had a great new year. I Two possible solutions. Either mount the radio on brackets beneath theinstrument panels or remove the logo panel and hinge it.It is held in place by four screws from behind and also fixed with double sided sticky tape. It can be prised of carefully and hinged to let down on a stay and held closed with a small piece of industrial velcro or something similar. I will try to post photos when we get back to Bali Hai in Malta next week. The SSB can be supplied with 12 volts from an isolated Alphatronics switchmode converter a a fraction of the cost of the type supplied by SSB companies. Cosider having a ham set instead of an SSB. It can be programmed for the SSB chanells and is much easier to retune when the net controller suggests moving up to another frequency. It is also much cheaper, typically about 600pounds stlg. The output will only be 100 watts max as opposed to 150 with an SSB but in practice this makes no difference to performance. dear ian & judy
sorry, i seem to have deleted the address of the website for the seame transponder. would you please send it to me again? where are you located? did amel fix a propane or butane system to your boat? i see you have an inverter. do you find 110 volts on board helpful? what is a bluetooth? i ordered the hot water for the cockpit shower. the dual racor filters are now an option. i like the idea of adding a third coarse filter upstream of the other pair. kimberlt@optonline.net fair winds eric

Mike and Kim,
Thank goodness that your family is safe and unhurt. I'm at your service to help out. Also, please note there's quite a few other Sharki owners who've joined this Amel Forum and they may be able to lend some assistance too. David,Eric, I have a 48 foot Maramu, which I keep on the Choptank River of the Chesapeake Bay, just south of St Michaels. I look forward to this in a few years when I have my sons in college. David

Hi,
My name is Antonio, two months ago I'm the hapy owner of a 1986 Amel Sharki, I bought it in Spain to a German couple, an the boat is in fine shape. I could not understand wel with the German owners during the deal, and have a lot of questions about the Sharki. The first question, the previous owner put on the boat a folding propelor.... What to do with the shaft alternator ???? It's great to have a group like this. Sorry my bad English. Best Regards, A. Cordero

-Hello we own a 1986 Sharki is the prop folding or feathering. If it
is feathering you can put it in reverse then shut the engine down and the prop will stay open and the prop will turn to power the alternator. Hope this helps.
