Measurement of 1 interior panel of window covering.

Stephanie DiBelardino <stephiedib@...>

Could someone measure 1 panel of a SM window “curtain”either in inches or cm’s? I eyeballed an overall yardage, assuming a 60 cm horizontal repeat, before we left the US. But I found a fabric here in Italy that I may need less of!

BTW, we visited the Amel factory in La Rochelle last week. Very impressive and gave me even greater respect for the quality workmanship that goes into an Amel. Currently, there are 3 models that Amel is producing: 50, 55, & 64. Evidently, Amel only wants to produce 2 models. They hope that the 50 makes a great splash at the Dusseldorf Boat Show. It is a very comfortable boat that measures 6 meters at the beam!

The new designer (last 3 years) has dramatically changed the exterior and the boat lines are sleeker. Not even a rub rail!

Many thanks,
Stephanie

Bill,

If you can give me an estimate of the head that the Sealand would be pumping against and I will find some time to test my Sealand T2 pump for you.   My impression of the pump is that the motor is quite strong for the size of the pump so I don’t think that the flow falls off as fast as with some of the other pumps but it will be interesting to find out!

Good Morning Amelians,

I'll be back in Le Merin late 1/9.

As long as they don't confiscate my oysters and scallops passing thru customs, I hope to arrange to have our get together when I get back.

I'll post details.

Spirit is at the end of the dock in the last slip. Feel free to stop by and say hi.

Maybe relevant....we replaced the AMFA pump with a Johnson VIKING 32.
It seems to pump at about 75% of it's rated flow.
I wonder if it has something to do with the 1.5 meter vertical feed from the sump ??
In any event the Johnson pump drains the sump noticeably faster than the original, which IMHO is a really bad design.

Update, I installed the T series Sealand 24v.  Although the specs state that if mounted vertically it will be somewhat less efficient, I cannot see any functional difference.  This pump is equal in performance to the Jabsco that was on it.  Much quieter, in fact almost too quiet.  It only draws 3amps and has good suction.  Thanks for the suggestion.

I used one of those Jabsco diaphragm pumps as a shower sump discharge.  I think it lasted about a year.  Sealand makes a pump that is much more robust than anything from Jabsco.  The T-series discharge pump is likely the one you would want.  Like this:

http://amzn.to/2jzkzTD

Technically, they are bellows pumps, not diaphragm pumps, and that is a good thing.  No diaphragm to tear or wear.  It is sometimes described as a "macerator" pump, but it is not, it does not need to be, it pumps all kinds of lumps and chunks without needing to chop it up.

I used one of these for 15 years as part of my Vacuflush toilet in daily use.  Changing the check valves occasionally was the only maintenance ever required.  The check valves are the same kind of joker valve used in toilets.

Patrick,

I believe that you have to remove the plate with the motors and pump. This is what I did.
Yes it is difficult. Most likely you have to replace resilient mounts under  the plate. Buy new mounts that have stainless steel threaded connections. Use stainless steel hardware.

Write a can anyone help me please. My 220 volt motor needs to be removed, looking down on the unit it seems to be secured to the motor housing/board by four nuts. My problem is that one can only get two two of the nuts so making it impossible to actually remove the electric motor. Could it be that I have to remove the whole unit eg 220 volt motor, pump, 24volt motor in order to get to the 220volt motor?...

I am hoping that there is a simple solution that I am overlooking?

Steve,

I think it depends on where you connect (USA or EU type power), what you currently have (OEM or Modified), which model of Amel you have, and who you choose to listen to.🤔

Does that give you a simple takeaway from all of this?😉

If not, me a private email and together we will come up with the best solution for where you are and where you intend to go to.😀
