James,
I don't know how much detailed familiarity you have with Amels, but we'll be cruising in New England on our SM in the coming weeks if you wanted to see one up close and personal. Ours is most emphatically NOT for sale, but we happily do tours :) Bill Kinney SM160, Harmonie Boston, Mass.

What year is your Super Maramu, and do you still plan to have it for sale this month or next? I’d be interested to hear more about it. James

Re: [Amel Yacht Owners] Fabric and hardware for curtains?
Bill & Judy Rouse <yahoogroups@...>
Denise, I do not have any information you asked for except, most fabric patterns are down the roll and the useable width of most fabric is 54". And, most importantly, buy the UV Liner from Sailrite as it is better than most. Also their sew-on fuzzy Velcro is good. Additionally, you might want to buy twice as much fabric as needed to have it to replace when needed. If someone on their Super Maramu could measure the inside track widths for you, possibly you'll find a match at Sailrite. [Amel Yacht Owners] Illustration on swapping the Aft & Forward Air Conditioning Climma Marine Compact 9

I recently had a failure on the Aft Air Conditioning and decided to swap the unit with the one of the Forward cabin.
So for the owners like myself who are intimidated by repair they have never done performed, I illustrated the “swapping the Aft and Forward Air Conditioning Climma Marine Compact 9”. It was not difficult, but not without unexpected surprised. If you plan on removing or installing either the Aft or Forward cabin unit, I seriously recommend you look at ALL the pictures and sections as I pictures differently the removal and reinstallation of each unit. Plus some section are more detailed on the harness reconnection, etc. Here is the link: http://nikimat.com/air_conditioning_climma_marine_compact_9_eh.html Sincerely, Alexandre SM2K #289 NIKIMAT Port de Plaisance de Gustavia, Saint Barthélémy, French West Indies

Original Side Curtain Fasteners
James Alton
Hello everyone, We are replacing the side curtain clears on our 1987 Amel Maramu. As the boat is in Sardinia and we are in Canada, we are trying to find out the correct size eyelets to install into the new side curtains. We want these to fit the original twist turns that are fastened to the inside of the fibreglass dodger. It appears that the US version of the eyelets might be too small to fit the original twist turns, but I cannot verify that. Any help is appreciated. Best to all Amel owners, James and Joann Alton SV Sueno, Maramu #220

Sent: Monday, July 03, 2017 11:44 PM To: amelyachtowners@... Subject: [Amel Yacht Owners] SM Antal Jib sheet car parts
Hi all:
One of my Antal jib sheet cars had failure of the plastic runners that line the cars and provide the bearing surface upon which the car slides on the "T" track. This left me with metal on metal for that interface and that is untenable. I emailed Antal and they referred me to euromarinetrading.com here in the USA.
These folks were very helpful and they supplied me with two sets of Part Number G30.40A PVC inserts 160 mm long, for $18.25 per set plus shipping. These are the original OEM sliders.
This repair will require removal of the car from the track to install them but I believe the car removal can be accomplished by removing the bolt at the end of the track and also removing the car traveler pulley mechanism at the aft end of the track. I need to remove this to replace the Amel logo aluminum pulleys at the base of that apparatus anyway. I think this will provide clearance without having to grind some of the "T" section but that is yet to be determined.

Fabric and hardware for curtains?
Anybody have an estimate for how much fabric is needed to make new curtains for a Super Maramu? Anyone successfully buy the curtain slides online or from Sailrite, or only available from Amel? I will reuse what I can, but I know some of the clips are broken. I would like to order supplies and the boat is with Mark on passage home to the Chesapeake. Thanks, Denise s/v Cara SM #440

Re: Amel 54 MasterVol alternator regulator upgrade (from Alpha Pro to Alpha Pro 2)
greatketch@...
Thomas,
The "W" terminal on those alternators is a direct tap off the stator that gives an unrectified alternating current feed used by the tachometer to figure out how fast the alternator, and hence the engine, is turning. The alternator regulators I am familiar with do not use this feed to do anything other than generate their own tachometer feed signal, and it can be left connected as it is to avoid more rewiring. I'll hedge that by saying I am not intimately familiar with the Mastervolt regulators... Bill Kinney SM160, Harmonie Boston, Mass ---In amelyachtowners@..., <svgarulfo@...> wrote : Hi all, Has anyone gone through the exercise of upgrading the MasterVolt Alpha Pro alternator regulator from the version installed by Amel to the MasterBus compatible version (Alpha Pro 2, aka Alpha Pro MB). Amel's wiring on the 54 involves a couple a relays and a mystery box that I believe is a static 12/24v converter and I'd like to gain confidence about the setup before doing the transplant. Attached is a badly drawn diagram of what I believe the connections are. I'm confused about the purple wire connected to the W pole of the alternator, especially because the new version of the regulator has an extra connection point that is meant to be wired directly to that W pole. And, don't forget, it will be saltwater on the Plexiglass. If you wipe or squeegee the Plexiglass, you may damage it. Use lots of freshwater before using a squeegee. I have not known anyone to remove crazing from Plexiglass. I have always assumed that crazing is deep UD damage and not on the surface. Am I wrong about this? Don't expect miracles. Even when water beads on the window, there (usually) isn't enough wind to blow it off, not like an auto windscreen at 50 miles an hour! It does help, just not a total fix. Bill Kinney SM160, Harmonie Boston, Mass

I can't speak for any other sailmakers but there is no duty on sails that we supply to customers in the EU. Our prices include VAT prepaid so there are zero surprises. I own Island Planet Sails if you're not familiar.

so do these polishes give any water repellent effect like rain X does on windshields? If not is there anything people use to keep the Screens cleaner during sailing?
