Re: BILGE WATER PUMP #replacement

Hi Victor,

Our AMFA pump fell to bits years ago
I replaced it with a Johnson Viking 32 pump

The pumps and spare parts are available everywhere.
It is a very good pump.

We use this one. Easy fast conversion. Attaches directly to the regulator.

My Amel 54  and most AMELs are delivered original with camping-gaz bottles and connectors.
You will not find a refill or exchange for the blue camping-gaz bottles in US-waters.
I found 1 place, where they refilled the bottles . Later I was told it was not legal.
Now I found a adaptor for US- gasbotteles to my original system.
For everyone leaving europe to US-waters I recommend to buy this adapter ( ID 9035)

Any other consideration that I should be aware of before buying the new pump?

Hello

For 6 years ago I replaced the membrane by a VITON membrane (Viton is a wonderful material) .

You  can buy if all round the world .... many shops for industrial hydraulic can cut it (I do that by myself)...

no problem after 6 years ... it's better than the original

Thanks, Scott. I don’t remember seeing that in an earlier post.  I’ve seen a pic somewhere of much thicker and somewhat longer foam pieces at shorter intervals. When we get back to the boat I’ll look at Bill Rs book, I think that’s where I saw it.
