Hi All, I have just bought new Antal Traveler Blocks for my Super Maramu. The reason I bought new ones is that a few older boats have experienced a few breakages and hopefully I will get to do a few more blue water passages and I’d prefer to not have them break underway. Anyway there is nothing visually wrong with my old ones so I am offering them up for sale for anyone who would like one or both in their spares locker. I’d like around $100USD each Regards Alan Grayson Sm 406 Ora Pai

Re: Color code of hull Amel 54
Here's an excellent you-tube video on gelcoat color mixing from Boatworks Today, a great blog that covers every aspect of fiberglass repairs. It works!
It's a two part program, this is part 1. https://www.boatworkstoday.com/videos/gelcoat-color-matching-part-1/ -- Craig & Katherine Briggs SN 68 Sangaris Tropic Isle Harbor, FL

Re: Color code of hull Amel 54
I agree. Even if you had the original color codes or even a container of the original material, it is not going to match the color of your boat today.

I received following answer from Maud at Amel. There is no RAL for the white color of the hull. The only solution is to use a spectrometer and try to find the most approaching tone locally. -- Carina SV Ultimo Amel 54 No 165

Re: Color code of hull Amel 54
Hi Alexander, I notice in your tag line you sign off with “the first gold line” (Amel 54). Other than updated cosmetics, is there any difference between that and previous Amel 54’s (i.e. like the Red Line Super Maramu’s after 2003)? Thanks.

Re: Color code of hull Amel 54
Hi Carina,
did know Bruno, the former owner of ULTIMO, a bit, I have had a berth next to him in La Rochelle, and I have spied some good ideas he had had on equipment :-). Below you find the original answer from CNVP (Societé Naval de Vieux Port) in La Rochelle, they are THE competent company in LR for this, and they have installed an extra bow protection and have made more fiberglass and GelCoat work on SY Oceanica I. The answer to your quenstions is: There is no colour code, makes no sense also, because the colour is changing with the years. Find a real good specilaist on gelcoat, check the actual colour with a spectrometer and let a specialist mix te colour induvidually for you. It is an effort, but the only way to be happy after the repairs! https://www.chantiernautiqueduvieuxport.com/ contact@... The owners speak French and English Alexander Hofmann SY Oceanica I Amel54#160 (frist Gold line :-) ...) Google translation of the key sentence: For gelcoat shades, AMEL does not give the references or RALs of their color, but if you need to reproduce the color you have to go through a professional with a color spectrometer (or spectrophotometer).
Von: CNVP [] Gesendet: Donnerstag, 21. Juli 2016 11:28 An: 'Alexander' Betreff: RE: SY Oceanica I - gelcoat ...... Cordialement Christine BENOIST

Re: Santorin Bow Thruster/genoa furler breaker.
Hello. I have lost the 8 rivets that hold the genoa roller to the grey piece to handle it manually when disengaged from the furler engine. I don't know how to replace them :-( Any idea of where to find instructions to do it...? Thanks in advance. Victor Alendoy SM314

Masse Negative Leak solved
Thank you all for the excellent advice.
I have found and solved the problem... It was the Bowthruster after all. A build up of carbon dust from the brushes on top of the commutator bridged up to the top bearing housing. I stripped down the whole top section, removed the brushes took off top brush holding part. I could then access the commutator and even vacuum out by the magnets. I polished the commutator with 1200 grit and scraped out the grooves. Thanks again Nick S/Y Amelia Anchored Patmos, with pleasant 10-15kn wind. AML 54-019

Re: Rub Rail insert
Hi Pat, Bill Hall, looking to be an Amel owner. Do you plan to leave the rub rail die with the vender? You could also place it with Bill Rouse. Future rub rail orders could contribute for using the die. Would benefit many. Just a thought.
Rob, Maude at Amel said I needed two 16 meter pieces, which is 52.5 feet ,so I am going to purchase two 53 ft. lengths or 106 ft. The 104 came from a post I read months ago and is too short. To follow Gary’s suggestion, I guess you could push the insert every foot after installed to compress it . I also will leave a couple inches at the stern end run long and install permanently and make final cut when the temperature cools to 40 or 50 F. If you decide to join in the group buy email personally with your info. We should try to reduce posts to the Amel site.

Hi S&T,
No problem, an approx length is good enough. I want to replace both the VHF and the AIS cables in the resp. masts. Ciao, Arno

Re: Color code of hull Amel 54
Unfortunately, all I have with some certainty for the 54 is the Red color which is RAL 3003 Ruby Red. I suggest you ask SAV"@"amel.fr. Also, there are numerous colors on the "hull & deck." You need to be specific. I believe the 54 has 4 separate gelcoat colors. If you get all of these from Amel, please post here and share the information with all 54 owners. Bill

Please ,if interested in the new group buy respond to the recent post titled “Rub rail purchase” or better yet email me personally. I will not monitor the old Feb. post, nor respond to it. Thanks,
