Thanks James Thats great to know The rib looks like a real beauty agreed re visabiliy issues that a foredeck mounting would create - even with the inflatable stowed inverted fwd of the mast the vis is a bit rubbish - so yes good point I've previously built my nester and its been great for kids sailing and amazing to row.... but also a hassle to put together So wondering if to give up on a nester ...... or build a better one ;) the Chameleon design looks nice and has a proper centerboard vs my leeboard Hope all is well with you and yours M

We found a Ribeye 2.6 aluminum RIB that fits beautifully on the aft cabin top between the back of the mizzen mast and the mizzen traveller. The mizzen vang however does need to be detached to fit it. With one person aboard the dinghy will partially plane out with a Honda 2.3 hp 4 stroke. We have a Mercury 9.9 2 stroke that we want to try on the dinghy. We like the dinghy a lot, as it is stable and quite light. Personally I feel that a dinghy on the foredeck would restrict the forward view too much but if you want a larger dinghy there are not many other options.

Hi there
I’d be really interested to hear of others Maramu dinghy choice wrt stowage The transom of the Maramu is quite a bit narrower than the SM and later models - as such davits don’t feel right as any dink would overhang the sides If the boat a lot Plus I have a much treasured Hydrovane on the back We currently carry an inflatable and also a nesting affair I made The nesting dinghy stows Inverted under the mizzen boom but that space is not big enough for the inflatable which I pack up and stow in the fwd locker Really interested in the options people have explored. Does anyone mount their dinghy right side up on the deck on the foredeck? I’ve seen a few SMs with this setup but feels tight re space on the Maramu All the very best Miles Maramu 162 Looks like we are heading off as

Thanks Craig, We are guests at the City Island Yacht Club but enjoyed visiting the Harlem Yacht Club restaurant when we were here last year. It is a great club. If they open up for outdoor dining while we are still around, I will definitely mention your name and get that free glass of ice water! Can anyone else answer the question in the original post? Re: Climma compressor turning off randomly
BTW, to those who may want to help Billie, but have earlier models: Amel 55 #56 has the Climma Chiller System, which is probably unlike the very early 55's and all Amel's before Amel started using the Climma Chiller. It is not like all of the Climma installations in Amels before. It has a central cooling compressor with remote air handlers that receive chilled fluid (not freon, rater 80% freshwater, and 20% antifreeze) from a central engine room mounted unit. It has a saltwater circuit contained in the engine room for heat transfer and a separate pump that circulates chilled fluid. Billie, I think we all have limited knowledge of this system. Hopefully, some owner has experienced your issue. My guess, and it is really a guess, is that because resetting the system allows you to restart with cooling, there is probably either insufficient water flow in the saltwater or the chilled fluid circuits, causing an automated shutdown. If this is the cause for the shutdown, included in the troubleshooting should be the sensor that shuts it down. If I were you, I would call Coastal Climate Control and ask Rob or Gretchen for the contact information for the most qualified technician for Climma Chillers in your area. Hello
Since yesterday when I tried to park in a box in a marina in Auckland my bow thruster motor failed.
If I turn the beam to the left or right the whole power supply breaks down for a moment. After that the power is back.
I took the rudder off and it can be turned perfectly by hand.
But the same happens with the engine. No power for a few seconds, all instruments off, no rotation of the motor.
Does anyone know this problem.
Does anyone know how I can find out if it's the motor or maybe a relay that doesn't work.
Can I test the motor without a relay, maybe on the 4 cables marked D1, D2, and A1, A2?
I am grateful for a quick answer. Heinz SY Quetzal, SM 2000, 292

Re: Climma compressor turning off randomly
John Clanton
Billy,
I have had the same symptoms, and think I have resolved mine. I found that the power leads going into the sealed compressor unit were just a little loose. I am not on the boat now to look at it, but my recollection is there is one lead that is secured with a bolt, and perhaps two leads that are spade & socket connections. I removed all connections, treated with Corrosion X, slightly crimped the socket connections, then reconnected everything. I had to use needle nose pliers to re-attach the spade/socket connections as the sockets were very tight.
I have not had a problem since then. I assume, at least in my case, that the less-than-perfect connections were creating too much resistance and that the compressor shut itself down.
I hope this helps.
Please remember to put your name, boat info, and location in the signature line so that the group can recommend local resources.

The fix is to turn off and on the clima system on the AC breaker box in the engine room. Turn it off and then on and the compressor and electronics immediately come on. The LED display shows the usual numbers and then the boat starts cooling down. How can I figure out whats causing the compressor/AC unit to shutdown like that?
