Barry,

I’m curious as to why they need replacing – UV damage? Should I be concerned about mine?

Subject: [AmelYachtOwners] Lewmar acrylic lens replacement on Amel 54

I need to replace all my Lewmar arcylic lens on the 7 Lewmar hatches. I have measured the outside and they tally with Lewmar specs for the size 50,54,60,and 70.
I measure the actual lens size and the size does not match the Lewmar specification for the actual lens.
Example:
Lewmar size 50: My overall outer measurements, 448x578mm. Same as Lewmar spec.
Lewmar size 50 lens: Lewmar specification measurement for lens is 377x507mm. My measurement of Lens inside the seal 387x517.

Can anyone put me straight on this?
These acrylic lenses do not seem difficult to install after looking at the Lewmar video, don't want to order the wrong size.

Thanks

Hi Steve, All those screws removed, were they just holding the sound insulation in place?
When I get a lot of water on the cockpit floor I get a squishy sound when I walk on it. I'm guessing that all the wood is water logged but if there are that many screws I imagine water would leak out of at least a couple of them and that is not the case. Maybe I can just get away with what you did.

Thank you all for the recommendations.  As usual, this group is a wealth of knowledge that I greatly appreciate.  Luckily all the models recommended are local here.  Force 10 is about $1,500 at one end, and the OceanChef about $4,000 at the other.  So now comes the hard decision of how much to invest.

Thanks, Dan

Peter,

Remember that even if a diagram exists, the 54 rigging specs were changed twice during the production. The SM was the same throughout production.

Re: Dessalator DUO 100 - Watermaker HP hose/pipe

To reuse the Dessalator screw-on fittings you will need a hose that is very similar to the hose Dessalator uses. I have done this with hose that I bought from Dessalator. I am sorry that I do not have the specs.
Click here for instructions for reusing the fittings.

We met these guys on Southampton boatshow, very friendly, customer oriented and helpful, no problem to create individual solutions, also for spec galley systems.
Will be our next choice if our ENO will go at anytime.
