In the process of moving up in yacht size I have
placed Amels right
at the top of my short list.

I'm in Brisbane, Australia and enquire whether there
are any Amel
owners who might be planning, or indeed are in
transit south and
intend to make Australia or SoPac the final stop
with intention of
selling their yacht here or somewhere else in
SoPac.

I am looking to purchase within a flexible timeframe
and would
consider Amels 46' and over, preferably without C
Drive...ie Maramu
and Mango, although C Drive yachts built between
1995 and 1998 may be
considered.

Incidently, any purchase is not dependent on the
sale of an
existing vessel as is so often the case. That is, I
intend a cash
purchase for the right yacht.

I am looking for a personal yacht. I am not a broker

would ask that only private owners contact me
personally. I do not
wish to transact with brokers, dealers ,
professional or semi-
professional yacht delivery outfits.

Russ Roberts <russ.roberts.va@...>

Speaking of hull issues, I'm considering various hull materials for my next
boat. I want strength for occasional brash ice. I do not like steel and
aluminum because of corrosion. I am afraid of ferro cement because of lack
of knowledge. And I do not like fiberglass because of blisters (and the
question of strength). What is your experience with blisters and other hull
problems on the Amels? Thanks!

Joel, the bigger question has Amel ever put a drain
"hole' in the keel?

There is a very definitive procedure for repairing

Re: [Amel Yacht Owners] Keel drainage

Richard Piller <richard03801@...>

HI, Hey, did the water come from the keel or from the
rudder skeg. The rudder is hollow and will drain. I
don't know of any plugs in the Keel itself. The keep
should be cast steel incased in fiberglass.
good luck

Re: [Amel Yacht Owners] Sharki Prop Alternator

enpassant50 <no_reply@...>

Hi - No, we didn't fit a new one. the water-cooled tranny would have required cutting the
pulley down 2 inches, and we didn't think te reduced size would produce enough output to
make it worthwhile.

Hi Brad,
Don't even think about getting a new one from France. Just make one
with a strip of coloured perspex or of aluminium. If you do not have the
bits of the original just let me know and I will send you the
measurements. If you need to mark perspex before drilling use a
chinagraph or grease pencil. It would, of course be much easier to
file notches in the edge than drill. If you can cope with higher maths
you could convert the litres into US gallons and mark the other edge!!

Good luck, Anne and John SM 319

We have an Onan that has gotten sick and appears to need a new Kubota diesel. It's got huge
