I do not recommend systems that use a USB cable to the antenna (such as Red Box). There is too much power loss in these cables.

There are many systems out there to choose from. Costs for the kit start at close to $400. They consist of a Ubiquity bullet (a radio receiver tuned for 2,4 ghz), a PoE injector (Power over Ethernet), and a wireless router. Of course it includes the requisite cabling. The kit parts can be purchased separately, for about $240, but the process of getting things programmed and talking to each other requires an I.T. professional, or software Engineer. (I’ll assume you’re not one, as if you were, you wouldn’t be asking in the first place.) As I said, there are many kits available, this is but one: Good luck we have one installed and it works well. We have good bandwidth up to about a kilometer, and workable data, not streaming, but email, web browsing, at up to 2 miles, depending on the strength of the source. ~~~⛵️~~~Matt

There were a couple of different rub rails for the Mango and just one, all but certain, on the Sharks and Maramu. They share nothing in common with the Santorin and Super Maramu insert.

Charles,
My understanding is the Mango rail is quite different, but that is thirtd hand, at best Here is a photo of the insert from an early Super Maramu, before Amel switched to a white extrusion. .

Hello Karen,
I am interested in joining the order (will commit today) if the rail you are going to extrude would fit my Amel Mango. Do you have a profile/drawing/picture you can share? Or do you know if it will fit the Mango? Thank you, Charles

Martin,
We have been using a Webcatcher (I believe the same as a Bullet) which I bought from Diginav in Le Marin 4 years ago and it has worked perfectly ever since. There was a choice of 3 antenna sizes and I went for the middle one as a compromise between vertical beam width and range.

Hola Amelians,
I am looking for current reviews on the best wifi extenders.......
I searched the user site files and couldn't find anything new or relevant. Objective is to grab shore wifi while at anchor and work remotely with video calls, email etc... I know the quality depend on the source..
Appreciate your experience as I am looking to buy a system now.

Rub Rail Rubber Inserts: Last Call
Karen Smith
We have an extruder in the USA to make a custom extrusion of the Amel rubber rail that fits the Super Maramu and Santorin.
The material will be white EDPM, and it will be supplied in 2 pieces each 16 m (52'6") in length. Cost will be $805 for the two pieces sufficient to replace both inserts on one boat. Shipping will be from South Florida, and for UPS ground it ranges from <$200 for the lower 48, to $460 to Hawaii. We have 10 boats signed on as interested, (which JUST covers the minimum order!) and will be scheduling the production run within a week or so, so if there is anyone else, this is your last chance!

The bottom part goes between the shaft nut and your prop (if it’s a fixed blade, not sure about folding). At least that’s where mine has always been.

David, While in Le Marin last winter I had a new raw water pump shipped from an Onan dealer in Fla.,it took about a week to be shipped. I am sure you could have seals shipped as well.
Good Luck ,

I have tried using the new shaft with the old seals but as expected not a very successful outcome.
