Yes, the lack of flow is caused by a lack of sufficient pressure. In my experience, the lack of pressure can be caused by:
Stuart, the reason I did not go into detail in my first response is that you did not mention any loss of freshwater. The accumulator tank allows your freshwater pump to cycle less and have longer non-running periods. The tank allows for the accumulation of water pressure because of an expandable internal bladder which is supported by air pressure on one side. If/when the internal bladder fails or air pressure supporting the bladder reduces, the pump will cycle more often. Really appreciated Bill, we still need to find a cycle pump and try to pump the bladder up

Re: Size of main anchor for Super Maramu
Patrick McAneny
Paul, I just watched some video of a Rocna testing, resetting after a 180 shift, which did show a problem resetting until the boat slowed to one kt. ,They only had a 3:1 scope , I probably never have less than 5:1 and more in strong conditions. They did not test the Mantus ,wish they had. They look so similar in design ,but there may be differences ,that make a difference. I will now simulate myself 180 degree shifts and see how my Rocna performs. While I have experienced many wind shifts over the years ,perhaps never a sudden 180.
FYI ,Georgetown Marina went belly up and foreclosed on,was auctioned off in Jan. No surprise there,or that there is a massive amount of pension money missing, the Feds are now involved ,with a $2.6 million lien.Glad it did not happen while your boat was there for repairs. Mine was and I had to charge them with fraud ,to get them to return a $10,000.00 deposit they fully intended to keep.

Rub Rail insert
Patrick McAneny
I contacted Maud about buying a new rub rail insert ,she cannot provide an estimate for shipping. We are thinking it may be much more than we first estimated. Has anyone had the inserts shipped to the US., and tell us what the shipping cost were. The inserts are less than $900. I fear the shipping could be more than that.
Thank You, Pat SM Shenanigans

Re: Buying a Sharki
marklesparkle59
Three problems I am addressing on Sharki#96 right now are the headlinings and the bulkhead in the aft cabin. The 9mm bulkhead rots because water gets in between the plywood and the fibreglass of the cockpit, from the pocket behind the Mizzen in my case. First signs were a dark patch in the middle of the bulkhead. The water sits in hollow pockets, I think for years. Headlinings have been discussed on the forum recently and can be kept up with batons. I am replacing mine with a softer fabric and adding 5mm of insulation. The wind, depth and speed electronics, (B and G hornet 4) has expired after 36 years. The gelcoat on the deck will need attention . Mark Porter Sea Hobo Sharki#96 Sent from my Samsung device

Once you have a good once over for general condition (pay attention to how it is kept) be sure to focus on drive shaft thru- hulls mast and rig. Mine looked great and I knew what I needed to replaced from the onset. The general condition will give you clues where to focus. Caveat Emptor as they say Bon chance Aras Sharki # 163

Re: SM2000 - Have you replaced your dishwasher by a fridge/freezer?
#galley
We ”replaced” our dishwasher, I built a freezer using polystyrene panels 10 cm in the sides, 15 cm in the bottom, in the top we used 13 cm. Total volume about 40 liters. As liner we used a ca 1 mm Polyethylene sheet that was easily formed with a heat gun. the compressor is cooled by circulating the freshwater, works excellent. Have not measured the energy it draws, but we notice that the compressor runs significant less time than the compressor for the front opening fridge. Temperature in the freezer around -10 C, can easily be down to -18 if one so wishes Paul on SY Kerpa SM #259 -- Skickat från Gmail Mobile

Re: Beam IV : A55 ; Bonaire , [AmelYachtOwners] A55: fresh water pump system
The air pressure to the accumulator tank should be about 10-15% less than the pump cutoff pressure as noted on the pressure gauge of the water pump.

Stuart,
Welcome to the forum my good friend. You will find a wealth of information here as well as some incredibly nice, knowledgeable, and helpful people. Just an FYI. It is best if you include your boat name, model, hull number and location below your signature line. This information will assist those who respond as there are variations among models and hull numbers. Additionally, knowing your location someone can often suggest services of suppliers or contractors in your area. Re: Bonding and grounding on Maramu
Hi Matt,
I don't think that's right. Our ICOM setup, setup according to the installation instructions, has a heavy green yellow/wire from the SSB ground connection to the AT130 tuner. Then there is a heavy green/yellow wire from the AT130 tuner to the bolt connection in the lazarette which has copper tape connecting that bolt to the sintered bronze plates on the skeg. If you don't connect it like this , where does the ground for the SSB transmitter go? ... certainly NOT to the bonding system. In our ICOM SSB, the transmitter ground is internally connected to the 12V negative supply line, hence the need for an isolated power supply so that there is no connection between ground and 24V negative, which would compromise the bonding system via the seawater path between the sintered bronze plate and the anodes. Cheers Alan Elyse SM437
