Kent, If I am not mistaken, they have exactly what I think will work best, which is CACD240:

Goiot parts and seals -Rubber Buttons
Ian and others: I cannot account for why I was told the rubber button was not a Goiot part, but, in fact, when I contacted Goiot France to buy some sun screens for the Traditional ports, they put me in touch with their North America Contact Bill Hansen, who sold me the sun screens. I also asked him about these rubber things. He told me that he checked with France and Goiot told him no. I just downloaded the complete Goiot Tradition Parts list and this rubber part #93482 Rubber knob for round ports and 44.22 & 54.32 sizes (x 2) is there...see attached And apparently you can buy them in Sweden: https://www.navinordicoutlet.com/produkter-outlet/goiot-gummiratt-for-tradition-port-x2 Best, CW Bill Rouse 720 Winnie St Galveston Island, TX 77550 +1(832) 380-4970

Thanks for the information. So you use your parasailor without the pole, do you find it easy to launch and retrieve without issues and what wind do from good from and up to? Obviously it performs better than wing on wing with a gennika and Genoa on the pole? Are you happy with it? Thank you again for the help Regards Paul

One more vote for Basimakopoulos. My boat was on the hard there for the winter 2017/18. The yard and their contractors do excellent work and prices are reasonable. They will connect you with a very reasonable one way car rental from/to the Athens airport - about a 3 hour drive as I recall but scenic. Joerg Esdorn, A55 #53, Kincsem, Almerimar, Spain

Re: Spinniker or parasailor
Joerg Esdorn
Paul, I have a Parasailor and I use it without a pole. It's attached to the forestay with an ATN Tacker. It's much more stable than a symmetrical or asymmetrical spinnaker and much more forgiving - it's very hard to collapse it and if it does collapse, it won't fill with a Big Bang but with a more gentle "woosh." The "wing" really works. I would be very careful using the heavy jib pole for a spinnaker or Parasailor - it's dangerous in my view and the manual for the 55 warns against using it for a spinnaker or Parasailor. One problem is that to take the sail down with the snuffer you will need to swing the pole forward to the forestay - it will then be loose and start swinging around. I hope that helps. Hi Nick,
We are ashore at Basimakopoulos Shipyard in Kilada. There is no marina but an excellent, protected anchorage and good storage ashore. The village is a small fishing village where everyone is connected in some way to the Bas. family. Good cradles, each served
with water and electricity. Check their website.

Lior Keydar <sharona246@...>
Thank you all for the great information.
I saw that BEKO WMS6100 is not produced any more but there a few machines on the market that could fit in. The different models changes very quickly on the market. Also on my boat the machine is held in place by two bolts attached through the back of the machine. The challenge will be for sure to fit the new machine in and to secure it like the first one. Thanks again Lior, SCHARONA A54 #18

Here’s the site I was looking at. These are truly half-round with base 1”, height 1/2”(not 1”). I’ll contact them and Steve’s site to see if I can find 1” x 1” high D profile in neoprene. Kent Robertson

Re: [Amel Yacht Owners] Bow locker seals
Steve, Note that Trim-LOC says it uses EPDM Rubber. EPDM is related to polyethylene...I assume that this will be similar to polyfoam. The specs state that "compression Rating Recommended 25% compression for the maximum performance." This is where I had a failure with the gasket I previously used. If you notice the weight of the engine room hatch, it will compress the D Gasket to more than 25%, especially if the center hole is large. Maybe the one that Kent found with a 3/16" hole will be the best. It will take about 90' to do everything. Best, CW Bill Rouse 720 Winnie St Galveston Island, TX 77550 +1(832) 380-4970
