solar panel

Hi, I am upgrading my solar panels on the arch. I am hesitating between the SunPower Maxeon 3 400W and the TrinaSolar Vertex S 400W (similar size and power, but huge price difference). Does anybody have some experiences with one of these....or a better option? I want to install minimum 3 x 400W.

Hi Giovanni,
As in the drawing, the square section is 20x20x20mm
The U shaped slot is 8mm across, 12mm down
The tube is 8mm long
I tried to take a photo but it didn't work well.
Trust this is ok.

Re: Washing machine does not turn on

 

There is an access panel in the port berth. Washer Access Panel in the Port Berth facing forward – upper right. This wood panel has two screws securing it. You will find water and electrical connections here. Photo 5 below shows the panel off and the washer water hose disconnected. Photo 6 is a close-up of what is inside. You will find a 220 AC receptacle inside this area. Sadly, if you are getting power to the receptacle, it is usually the logic board on the washer that has failed. Thank you for the advice and tips on cleaning the fabric.

I started first with a 50/50 mix of vinegar applying with a spray bottle. Using a soft brush, I worked it in to the fabric. I then let it set for a couple hours and then used a shop vac to remove a lot of the moisture. I waited till the fabric was totally dry and then I repeated this process.  After  three applications it now looks much better.

I am really grateful for  all the tips and ideas.

I said, Speed, but I meant the B&G Depth. The receiver of the DST200 has a very wide range of frequency reception whereas the DST210 is much narrower.

I am thinking you were the victim of interference. Submarine nearby?

The Super Maramu Red Line and the Amel 54 (except for the last 54s produced) have a rub rail and waterline stripe of RAL 3003 Ruby Red.

I do not have the color of the brown rub rail used on most SMs.

Mine is a SM Red Line. I have an old note (possibly I took it at Hiėres years ago) that the color code for the rub rail is RAL 3003. I cannot swear on it but I suggest you check it out.

I assume that you have a sonic speed transducer, rather than a paddle wheel. I have experienced an erratic reading caused when the frequency of something nearby was at the same frequency as the speed transducer receiver. The first time this happened was during a very heavy rainstorm in poorly charted Tonga. I believe that the frequency of the large raindrops pounding the water matched and/or interfered with the frequency of the receiver and the analog instrument dived to zero...wow it was a panic. In 11 years, this only happened twice, both times with a very heavy rainstorm.

Possibly something nearby or a huge rainstorm caused your issue.

More than you wanted to know:

There are two threaded holes 8mm on either side of the axis. Use the AutoProp Puller and modify it by drilling two 9mm holes spaced 48mm - 63mm apart (it varies). Two 8mm screws are inserted into the new holes of the extractor and screwed into the holes of the wheel. By screwing in the center bolt of the AutoProp Puller, the steering wheel can be removed. 

Note from Steve S/V ALOHA: The older SMs do not have the 2 holes on the wheel for a puller. A technique that works is to have one person sit in the helm seat and pull hard on the wheel with both hands while the other taps on the shaft with a weighted mallet. Make sure to protect the threads on the shaft with the nut. This was recommended by Olivier, and it worked after a few whacks.

With all due respect, Amel didn't "design" the gear train, they only specified it.
Both the Leroy Somer and Bongifoli(?) units are standard production industrial motor gearbox units used in factories for example as conveyor drivers.
They are nothing special.
And there are plenty of alternatives out there.
