Re: SM galley Faucet very hot.

JOSE PRIETO

Returning to the soap opera of excessively hot water in the system (I discovered that it is not only on the kitchen tap, but on all taps on the boat).
I checked the entire system.
The problem is not the thermostat, because I have the same condition or worse when I am anchored (heating by the engine).
The heater's cold water inlet hose was very hot, deducing that the hot water is returning.
I installed a check valve at the heater inlet, and the temperature problem was solved, however the pressurization pump is activated every 10 seconds when a tap is turned on (especially set to cold).
I will remove the check valve to prevent damage to the pump.
Any idea?

Hey, Paolo.

please what are the mass of the microwave compartment , there are microwaves with seperate home-air levels then you would have a hot air / microwaves/ grill
downstairs the induction field
and the reserve of the gas oven

Hi Paolo,

Point taken. Yes depth appears it would be a problem. Thanks for the tip.
I will follow up with Bills suggestion re the option from the UK.

Hi all,
I suggest to make double sure about the measurement we are referring to. On my SM, 590 mm is the space available for fitting the entire oven set. The gimballing steel frame  outer width is 570 mm and, given a 3mm steel plate thickness, the inside clearance is 570-6 equal 564 mm.
If the idea of Bryce is to place the new set on top of the existing frame, the width shouldn't be a problem. If the set is a square, the trouble is with the depth as te current ss frame is only  550mm and then, leaving some clearance for safeguarding your fingers, you run into the crash bar. This at least on my boat
Hope this helps

Paolo,
as you can see from my photo above the 2 flame Silvercrest inductive cooker from Lidl fits perfect.
The space is 590 and the device is 580 mm. So no problem at all.

Re: Useful addition to Volvo D3-110 engine's sea water circuit

Arno Luijten

I was looking a bit more in detail at this strange difference in having a filter or not and later it became clear to me that Volvo Penta only issues this filter to engines connected to AquaDrives, a special tailpiece for planing motorboats. These things have the waterintake integrated in the sterndrive. This why VP puts the filter after the pump.

Nevertheless the filter is still a useful addition for inboard engines with a normal strainer.

Updated Event: Zoom meeting - QSails owner/manager will present sails for Amels - Saturday, 12 September 2020 #cal-invite

main@AmelYachtOwners.groups.io Calendar <main@...>

Zoom meeting - QSails owner/manager will present sails for Amels

When:
Saturday, 12 September 2020

An RSVP is requested. Click here to RSVP

Description:

Time will be 2000 UTC.

Over 60 Amel owners have purchased sails from QSails, Izmir, Turkey. QSails has shipped these sails worldwide. Emrah Oge, owner, manager, and avid sailor will present how sails are made and some key points to be aware of in the selection of sails for your Amel.

QSails offers very fast shipments of sails for many Amel models. In fact, many Amel sails are actually shipped from pre-made stock at QSails.

To ensure that you get the best quality and the best price, QSails and Amel owners have designed 3 simple choices for you of Good, Better, and Best:

GOOD - CrossCut AP Dacron is a quote for budget-minded Super Maramu owners who would like a Dacron polyester cross-cut sail similar to what Doyle Sails provides.
BETTER - TriRadial Cut Pro Radial Dimension/Polyant Dacron is a quote for those owners wanting a very high-quality Dacron Polyester fiber sailcloth from the German company Dimension-Polyant. It is cut and assembled in a TriRadial configuration. This is a slightly higher quality sail with the same TriRadial construction that your Super Maramu had when new.
BEST
- HydraNet TriRadial Cut is a quote for TriRadial Cut HydraNet from the German company Dimension-Polyant. I consider Dimension-Polyant the best sailcloth manufacturer in the world, and HydraNet the best sailcloth...it will not stretch.

Re: Bow-thruster repair at anchor

I’ve read about that repair dozens of times but it was never very clear to me what they were talking about without having it all apart in front of me. Noe seeing your video makes it all very clear. Very well done. The two parts that you were wondering what the English names were are the Shear Pin and the Shaft Key (counterintuitive I know) but it’s still very clear what you meant. Your video will help a lot of new owners so thank you for taking the time to put it together.

Re: Cook top dimensions

I suggest that you look at probably the best stoves available at GN Espace https://www.gn-espace.com/ Be sure to look at their storage and cooking containers which are simply genius.

They just introduced the OceanChef 3 Induction Stove, which is a 53.5 cm wide (gimbal tip to gimbal tip) - 3 zone induction cooktop/electric oven and grill for monohulls. Both of their OceanChef 3 and 4 burner LPG cookers and the new OceanChef 3 Induction/electric cooker, are all direct replacements for the ENO/Force 10 stoves.

I believe that there is not a better product for Amels than all of the products made by this company. If this interests you, I have negotiated a discount for my clients. For more information on the discount write to me at Bill@...

Hello,

Why don' t you install electric heating elements in the existing oven?

You may even install them additional beside the gas heaters. So you can use both.

Yes, I am also converting my oven to electric.
My idea is to insert 2 small ovens into the current oven space inside the existing stainless steel gimballed frame. If you like I can send you a photo in the next day or two of how the two ovens look together along with dimensions. Each oven draws a maximum of 2400W.
