Re: Masse Light and March Pump
greatketch@...
Dean,
The two Marco UPE2/e pumps in our system are both powered on all the time. There are no change over valves in the system. They work well together. What typically happens when we open a tap and the water pressure starts to fall is both pumps come on for a second or two, then one takes the job of keeping the pressure in the system. We do not have an accumulator in the system. None of our basin taps or shower heads flow more than 1 gallon per minute at full flow so in normal use I have never seen both pumps running together. I imagine they might run together if we ran three or four taps wide open at the same time, but that seems a rather artificial situation. The downside of the UPE2 size is that it runs lower water pressure—down near the minimum considered acceptable for household water supply, about 23psi. We think it’s fine. The UPE3 bumps the pressure up to 36psi/2bar. I think most people would find that completely acceptable. With this style of pump it is important to have a fairly fine screen on the intake water. This is not so much to protect the pump but it keeps a small bit of debris from jamming in the non-return valve, which is quite small. Not any more problematic than most other pumps, but it is really the only likely place to have a problem. We have had this installation in full time use for two years, trouble free. Re: Amel Pole Rigging Lines
James
Hi Gary In the process of buying a SM, and there is no rigging for the poles, in fact they were likely never used! Will be keen to hear how the set up goes for you. My guess is 12mm dyneema is more than strong enough, possible oversize somewhat.. Thanks James SV TITANIUM - SM2k #260

Engine tray mounts
James
Hello all I am about to become the proud owner of a SM2k and one of the first jobs to tackle are the engine tray mounts which are badly rusted and causing misalignment which in turns is causing vibration. Has anyone been through this before? Any guidance greatly appreciated as well as where to source new mounts.. The realignment before and after the replacement seems complicated also, so feedback greatly appreciated. Thanks to all, this site is such a great resource!! Looking forward to contributing! xantrex Battery Monitor - high Voltage alarm
Hi all Situation: My xantrex Battery Monitor is coming up with a high Voltage alarm regularly. Findings: In the settings under position F08 I can set the "over voltage alarm" level. Default in the manual say its 16V. This is for 12V systems. Range can be defined between 10.0 and 35.0V. For standard lead acid batterie, I guess an "over voltage setting" for the 24V system over 28.5 is normal. Problem: I can set the voltage level to 29 or 30V or whatsoever, but after some hours the settings are back to 28.5 and this will release the alarm. I have on Engine the 24V Mastwervolt regulator and Solar panels with a 24V Victron MPPT charge controller. Everything works fine. Batteries nearly all the time full and Voltage over 28.5V. Anyone has the same observations or any clue how to correct or learn Xantrex to have high voltage over 30V? Thanks for advice Ruedi WASABI A-54.#55

Re: Masse Light and March Pump
Bill K,
I am interested in installing something like you have, but using two parallel UP3/E pumps for redundancy. Would you be able to share a bit more about your configuration? For example, are both pumps powered all the time, or do you power one at a time? Did you instal a changeover valve in the pipework, or just plumb them in parallel? If you have them both powered and both plumbed, how do they interact with each other when you open a tap, two taps etc? I like the idea of having a redundant system, and also the capacity to produce 20+ l/min at 2 bar, which I think it would give me. Many thanks Dean SY Stella AMEL 54 #154

Amel Pole Rigging Lines
Well .. I made a big and expensive mistake when looking for some lengths of line last week. I couldn't back out of it because even though I said "StaySet" I touched "Dyneema" and that's what they cut for me. I think I know the answer already, but does anyone have an opinion (well .. I know that answer too :) ) on whether safety would be compromised if the Amel Poles were rigged with a non-stretching line? I'm debating it as it seems the Poles would need some wiggle room to shift stresses, but conversely the sails themselves do a lot of shock absorption. At any rate, I'm considering rigging the poles with 8mm Dyneema since I have a lot of it now (and it's in pretty colors) and since the original braided lines are getting pretty old. Thoughts? Gary W. Re: [Amel Yacht Owners] Volvo Penta D3-110 Problem
Dear Robin To my knowledge the Error Message on EVC Number 1,2, etc. are only indicating the number of errors. Does not mean it’s the real message. There is a trick to go into the OEM mode to get to the real error Messages. But I forgot how it works. You find a video in YouTube how to do. "How to Retrieve EVC-C Display Fault Codes" In Internet you also find different sides what those messages means. I had also fail-code # 1 and by digging in deeper the Real fault was the „mProp valve“ common-rail pressure sensor on my D3-110 iC. Good luck Ruedi P.S. Are you the new owner of Carre d’As? Have seen the boat in Denia last year. Von: <amelyachtowners@...> on behalf of "robin6658@... [amelyachtowners]" <amelyachtowners@...> Antworten an: <amelyachtowners@...> Datum: Freitag, 27. On top of that I get no turbo pressure the EVC tells me, while the Turbo most certainly is running perfectly.
Does anybody have had the same problem or migh know what ist could be? The VP guys here seem to be in the dark too.

Espar diesel heating system
James Cromie
Greetings fellows - I would like to ask the group of Amel Super Maramu owners for any advice on installing an Espar Diesel heater that I plan to install on my boat. I already have the fresh air ventilation system in place with its associated ducting. I am contemplating doing the installation myself, and would like to know if others have installed this system on their own boats. I would also like to know about others' experience with any problems with the installation or functioning of the heater. Any bits of knowledge or wisdom are appreciated! Many Thanks.
