24v alternator belts
I forgot to mention that the alignment looks spot on, there is no side wear on the belts. Just the bottom teeth coming off. A damned mess in the engine room of course but no harm done. Nick Amelia in

So further to this I ordered a pair of Optibelt super xe-power pro XPB 1320 belts. I chose the toothed ones as the alternator pulley is quite small diameter. Anyhow after a few hours running the teeth

Hi Oliver, I had a look at the Optibelt website and it certainly looks very promising. I will buy a couple of pairs and we can put it to the test. Nick SY Amelia anchored Corfu AML 54-019

I have a 175A 24v alternator on my 54. With twin pulley v belts. It is the set up with the alternator to port and separate from the 12v alternator and raw water pump belt. I know some 54’s are set up

Pulling the mast to rerig
Hi Allen, I had my rigging changed with mast up in Grenada by “Turbulence” rigging. It took a couple of days, and was done in pairs, so say both port and starboard cap shrouds were taken off, then new

Stuck top furling
Fixed: What happened: the lashing between head is sail and top drum failed. The top drum sprang into the black plastic stop at the top of foil and jammed solid. Could not winch it down. After sleeping

Jammed top roller Genoa
I am hoping to shed some light on my current problem. I did a short sail today in 10 kn of true wind. The Genoa halyard needed some tension so I cranked the halyard but actually the lashing had perish

super maramu, vibrations generated when the engine is running
Hi Bill, On the 54 there is a bolt covered in black mastic from the bottom of the C drive to the iron keel. Presumably this anchors the C drive. Is there any adjustments or anything to look out for? N

super maramu, vibrations generated when the engine is running
On my last boat I used to have a fixed three blade prop and there was some vibration. It was a traditional shaft and stern tube arrangement. I spent ages realigning the engine. Then I pulled the shaft

Nick again, I have to admit though that it is probably going to be a service that will not survive the internet. It is free to the user and paid for by presumably various government agencies. This kin

Love my weather fax but it depends where. Across the North Atlantic, Halifax Nova Scotia pumped out great charts as did UK. In the Med it is a different story. Nick Amelia in Corfu AML 54-019
