Many times, the smaller diameter line is plenty strong, but the larger diameter line feels better in the hand, easier to pull and handle at the expense of increased weight.

We had the Lasdrop GenII on our last boat. 8 years, and at 7 years only needed a $16 lip seal kit. No big leak, but a minor drip. We bought one for our new Amel 50.

Mine was stainless. The neat thing, is Lasdrop will cut your hose to a customer length, a bit longer, or shorter. This way, you can locate the shaft-seal forward or back a bit, to insure a clean shaft

My previous boat had a 12 volt system. The water circulation pumps for the fridge and freezer compressors ran at 5 volts, as the only needed low flow. I think you can safely run your pumps at 12 volts

Amel currently installs the World Pepwave, combined WiFi, 3g, 4g system. At least that is what they installed on our boat, completed last September. ~~~⛵️~~~Matt
