we spent 2013 in crotia (based in Sukosan Marina) and will leave soon for Greece (Aegean). If you want to leave Pen Azen only for a short trip home in a marina I think that you will find enough space during summer in one of the big marinas (just ask some days before), but Croatia is very expensive, will cost up to up to 100 eur per day for your boat with 50% off if you stay for a month, mooring is also not free in many places (standard-fee about 2 eur per meter per night).
You can also think about leaving your boat in Montenegro (Tivat porto Montenegro in the bay of kotor), very new and well protected with some guest places, friendly.
In the Ionian we have good experience with Cleopatra marina in Preveza (on the hard in the winter, cheaper and better than Lefkas Marina), but I think you will also find a place in Lefkas Marina (eventually the SM size could be a problem), but they were not full the last years. In Korfu try Gouvia Marina, I asked last week and they had space. You will find also good winter storage and repair facilities in Nidri on Lefkas (Vliho Boatyard, Maria). The Preveza airport is 20 minutes away with taxi from Lefkada with good connections from May/June until September.

Hi all, We were planning to cruise Croatia this summer. We avoid marinas, but weddings and aged parents mean that we have to leave Pen Azen in marinas for regular returns to London ( best from Split).Having emailed half a dozen Croatian marinas their responses have been that they are full with charter boats and that we cannot make reservations ahead of time as they cannot guarantee us a slot.
That prompts us to look at Corfu or Levkas as a base for summer cruising and possibly for a winter berth.
If anyone has experience of these two marinas ( or any nearby ) it would be good to hear. Also, if anyone has any suggestions of where else we might try in Croatia--they seem very efficient but we are getting the impression that cruising boats are not their first priority.
