Turkish Marinas

Hello Herbert
my Sharki is since more then 10 years in the YACHT MARINA in Marmaris, during summertime afloat, in wintertime "hardstandig". The Yacht Marina is very big but not so expensive (in relation to others) and there are a lot of small and bigger companys to help. For example "TMS". The marina is situated outside of Marmaris (about 15 min by bus, every half hour) and therefore relatively quiet. To the international airport Dalaman you have about 90 minutes by taxi. If you want more information: otto@... Kind regards Otto

Hi Herbert

Leros is a beautiful island and the Leros marina is very good. There is also a cheaper second marina which is closer to the center of the town but I would not leave my boat there for two months. Leros is nicely centered in that area. Connections to the rest of the world are limited. You also gave to check the new Greek cruising tax which could become costly. I would recommend a base in Turkey like Kusadasi, Turgutreis or Fethye which have very good facilities and good connections to European airports.

Cheers

Dear all,

we plan to visit the turkish coast this spring and autumn and are looking for a place to leave the boat in the water during July / August and then later for the winter on the land.  We will leave Croatia in April and we thought on selecting Leros as a base for july & august  and for the winter and to discover the Turkish west-coast from there.

Another possibility would be to go direct to Turkey and leave Kali Mera there, - can you share some of your experiences with us? Which marinas would you recommend that are save and fair priced where we could leave the boat in the water in summer and on the land in the winter when we are at home,   are there other places than a marina where the boat can stay save?

Any experiences / recommendations with Leros?

Thank you

Herbert
