Eric, We have only one ocean left to cross...the Atlantic. The only time that I feel we need one is when crossing oceans. I may rent or borrow one for that passage.
We have had the Mini-M for years and only used it one time when we were caught in an unpredicted Cyclone in the Bay of Bengal. We needed good weather information on the storm and its direction. The grib files were inaccurate in that area because the US weather satellite had been down for 3 years. We called Commander's Weather and got what we needed. Unlike the Atlantic, storms in the Bay of Bengal can move in any direction...they bounce around based on pressure systems in the Himalayas.
