[Amel Yacht Owners] Size of the cockpit locker

Alexandre Uster von Baar

Good afternoon Paul,

On NIKIMAT SM2K #289 I have the Scuba compressor, so I only measured the forward side of the storage.
If you don’t have the scuba compressor and need the aft side of the storage let me know and I will measure it tomorrow.
If you have the scuba compressor and need measure with it in or out, also let me know.

The first 8 pictures are when I received the boat after being totally emptied.
Then next 8 are today, taken in unloading sequence.
I am mainly using 4 boxes (white top) on which I can lay bimini extension flat.
2 of the white boxes also have non-skip mat on which I put tools I regularly use.

Last is a scan of the measurements I just took for the interior space.

Hope that helps.

Sincerely, Alexandre

Thank you!
I have not the scuba compressor, so excellent if you cam measure the after looker as well including the height
By the way it looks as you are fare better organizer than I am

Good morning Paul,

Sorry for the delay, was raining yesterday so not practical to empty the storage.

For the Aft section of the closet:

The length is: 40.5 inches or 103 Cm (up to the wood plank near my compressor - not sure you have that wood plank).
The width in the mid section is 39 inches or 100 cm (not as deep as the forward closet as there is the other storage behind for the life raft).
the width in the aft section is 37 inches or 94 cm
The inside height is: 19 3/4 inches or 50 cm

The door inside space is 40 cm (by that I mean when you lift the door on which I put all the equipment).

Hope that helps, let me know if you need other things.

Through the boat, usually under the floor, I have used lots of the http://www.reallyusefulproducts.co.uk boxes.
I found them of high quality, stack easily, etc.
For more precious equipment I used Pelican cases, which are water proof for 1 hour or so, but they are heavy and expensive.

Sincerely, Alexandre

Thank you Alexandre,
It was under the floorboard i had planed to use the different boxes, then I found the low cost heavy duty water proof boxes that I thought would fit well into the cockpit looker, which it does thank's for your measurements. I have now a lot of boxes to purchase, but it will make it easier to pack my stuff for the freight down to the Med
