[Amel Yacht Owners] Re: Shaft Generator
Bill Kinney <greatketch@...>
On my old boat I had a Sail-Gen. It worked like a charm. I needed it because I had to fold my rail-mouted solar panels in any serious weather, and the boat used a bit more power underway than at anchor when solar was all we needed. We sailed from Hawaii to San Francisco with full batteries, all the time, all the way.

If I even thought I needed a water generator on my Amel, I would make the choice based which one was the easiest, least disruptive installation because I don’t know that one is “better” than the other. I heard a rumor at the boat show that Amel offers the Watt and Sea as an option on the Amel 55, but didn’t confirm it with Amel.

I don't know if it was a factory install but I've seen an Amel 55 with two watt and sea units installed, one on each side.
