I'm working on a new electronics suite for Wanderer and I'm wondering how good the connection between a Zeus 3 at the helm and a tablet below would be.
I would like to be able to keep watch on nearby boats while at anchor during a storm with a tablet below showing radar, AIS, and the chart sent via WIFI from the helm chartplotter. If that isn't possible I'll buy another chartplotter for the nav station, but that seems a pricey way to go.
The connection is excellent with your Wifi - you can use a tablet, smart phone, pc, whatever, which then has all the features of another MFD, except, for safety, they don't let you control the autopilot. Mine is a Zeus2 but the Zeus3 is the same (of course it's the CPU doing the work through the Wifi unit).

Duane - Yes, it's the Go-Free App, which you can download from Google Play Store. Good for all platforms, Nothing needed on the B&G side. All covered in the manual. - Craig

Craig,
Thanks for the reply. Is there software that needs to be downloaded to run the nav software on the PC/Tablet/etc. ?
