Harmonie's new windows

Karen Smith

Hi Amelians,

We are just about finished with installing the new windows on Harmonie, there are just a couple of pieces of trim left to put back. It was a major project! Here is a link for the details!  https://fetchinketch.net/a-new-clearer-view-of-the-world/

That is a splendid description. Our windows are a project-in-waiting, now we know what we are letting ourselves in for

Bill & Karen, You guys have really been making a huge investment of time and money into your boat this year , I am sure it will pay dividends in pleasure as well as resale value. Your description of this window job was very detailed ,got to give you credit for taking it on. Its amazing how many hours it takes to complete a job like this. Its in my bucket list, but I can't find it because of all the other jobs piled on top of it.
Take it easier,
Pat

Great job!! We did the same 6 years ago, tricky job though. We used 3M Marine Silicone instead. It needs to be a flexible material. So far so good. Had to replace all of the screws and and all the plywood interior panels as well. One of the more difficult projects in renovating vintage Amels. We used a dark grey, it looks almost black from the outside but from the inside you get plenty of light and visibility. W used a locally produced acrylic manufacturer who used the old pieces as molds to give us the cut replicas of the originals. We also changed the hatches as well.
