I have done my rigging of my SM 5 years ago with Russo.
They are very professional.
I am satisfied from the job done.

Hello Victor,
I had the same answer from Amel in Hyeres. Seanergie is the new name of a company named "Rousseau" before. They are well known round here and I think they did a lot of Amels. After some phone calls with them I decided to go with them (appointment in July) . They use Acmo hardware and do there own crimping with cables from WDI from Germany.

Per ACMO quote today:
Swaged top terminations and mechanical bottoms - add 356Euros / $425 US to the all-swaged price
Mechanical fittings top and bottom - add 728Euros / $870 to all-swaged price.

This is for the SN, so SM would be somewhat more. Base total price all-swaged is 5742Euros. Add VAT for EU (none for USA). Shipping per country - 1800 by air to US (2 weeks transit time), 900 by sea (minimum 1 month). About 175 to Italy, as I recall from 2010.

ACMO says their mechanical fittings are essentially the Norseman design but are manufactured by ACMO at their factory.

Hello Slavko,

last year I did the same lookout/research and finished with www.saijla-com.hr in Betina, Murter. They are competent and use recommended material. I have been there last year for preparation and measuring, but the work couldn’t be finished due to covid. But all my information and impression is good.

Hello, is there a rigger that could do a work on Amel, in Northern Adriatic? Or I would have to sail to Malta, Turkey or France. I pan to replace rigging end of this or latest spring 2022.

Bonjour Victor,

My masts are actually at Russo Yachting for a new paint and they will also attached the new rigging ordered from ACMO.

I believe that company is good and the new owner, Mr Duthoit is a very nice person.

The company is reliable.  The name of the company is new but not the company itself which has been active on the market for decades (Russo Yachting).

Mr Russo retired 1 or 2 years ago.

Hello all.

I plan to have a rigging survey and probably its replacement in the coming months. I contacted Amel in Hyers (South France) and they told me that they do not do this type of job anymore, recommending me a company called Seanergies. Does anyone know the company? Is it reliable? I am concerned because when I asked Bill Rouse he told me that he didn't know them, and that's not a good sign...

Any comments or recommendations will be very welcome.

Hello Nicolas. I have never had a need to contact or work with ACMO but I know plenty of people who have who praise them uniformly with the possible exception of the time it takes to get an order fulfilled. Good people are always the busiest…

I know that ACMO offers mechanical end fittings at a substantial markup over swages. In my opinion they are more than worth  it. I have never seen or heard of a mechanical fitting that failed without outside provocation.

As I have mentioned, I used to be a rigger as a teenager and qualified for the job only because I weighed 75 LBS. and I could be put up to the masthead easier than anyone else. I was too young to know I would die one day so I fearlessly/stupidly engaged in antics that could have brought that moment in time sooner rather than later. I did learn a lot from very experienced adults in the shop. I have a great appreciation for riggers that know their stuff and practice it professionally.

I have been providing clients to Roger and Nance and Underwood rigging here in Fort Lauderdale almost since I sold my first Amel 40 years ago. I echo the praise they get on this owners group because they deeply deserve it. I have never had a dissatisfied customer that Nance and Underwood assisted. They are not the ones for you as they are an ocean away.

As you search for solutions to your rigging challenges, talk to everyone who will listen to you. Find a group of professional riggers who earn your confidence and have buckets full of people who recommend them. In my more than four decades of selling offshore cruising yachts exclusively, I have learned many of the most important things to keep in mind. First, keep the water on the outside of the boat. All of it. Second, don’t ever lose your steering. Ever. Third, having your rig come down will wreck your day and might even kill you.

Good luck with your rigging.

All the best,

Joel

Hello Joel
As my boat is already 16yo (2005) I’m actively looking at re rigging it.I will certainly follow Bill’s advice to use ACMO but having had a look at your link on mechanical end fittings from « Stalok » , I would like to ask you if they can be fitted to ACMO rigging . When ordering the rigging one would have to mention that one is using it’s own fittings ? How would it work then ?
best regards

Nick,

If you specify mechanical fittings with ACMO, they will make your rigging kit with mechanical fittings where possible. You will find that mechanical fittings are not possible at all terminations. This is probably another reason to use ACMO to supply the rigging kit.
