Mainsail furler top seal

Hi guys,
Interesting observation. despite of one of the previous comments regarding refitting the main furling transmission box, the size of the top leap seal is different for A54 172. I’ve ordered 45x60x7 seal for replacement, but It’s to big! I had to find a smaller one, which fits and this is 45x58x7. just FYI. |

It is my understanding that most Amel 54s like all SMs have a mainsail foil (profile) of 38mm. I am told that this is not true for some of the very last 54s which were equipped with a 40mm foil. If the foil size is increased so is the hub above the manual furler (and its seals) as well as the swivel. Bill

Bill,
please mention that the internal diameter of the seal is still the same - 45mm. It was just the issue of the external diameter 60->58. |
